After many years, I am so excited to share with you the online premiere of my film The Potential Wives of Norman Mao! Special thanks to the amazing cast and crew for their hard work and talent. And a big shout out to the folks at YOMYOMF for premiering the film. I hope you enjoy! Click below to watch!
I was so honored to be a part of the CAAM (Center for Asian American Media) Fellowship this year. My contribution??
“What I liked most about the Fellowship Retreat was CAAM’s focus on our career paths instead of an individual film project. Sometimes project-based film programs inadvertently create an unspoken sense of competition amongst the filmmakers because each are vying for the few limited spots to get our films made and seen. The beauty of the CAAM Fellowship retreat is that it created a strong sense of camaraderie and support for our careers in the long run.” – Derek Nguyen

I’m truly honored to have received the CAAM Fellowship this year for screenwriting! Looks like an amazing bunch of filmmakers that got in. And I already know two of them, Ernesto and Eric! I look forward to meeting Kimi and getting a mentor! Off to SF for the CAAMFest (formerly the San Francisco Asian American Film Festival).
Attention OC friends! The Potential Wives of Norman Mao will have a free screening at the Independent & Inspired Film Series of the Irvine International Film Festival on Thurs. Oct. 18th at 7pm. It’s at the OC Great Park Artists Studios of the Palm Court Arts Complex. Please join us!
Liselle and I are so honored to announce that our film project, Seeing Red, received the jury award at the C3 Project Market tonight. So humbled because all the projects were so great! Now let’s get our films made! 🙂
